This mower uses a rotary cutting system with two blades, one at each end of the blade carrier. This setup allows for efficient "topping" during operation. The cuttings produced are generally longer than those from other mowers and are collected in windrows along the skids.

Toppers are often preferred due to their straightforward design. The direct-drive blade carrier uses less power than traditional belt-driven mowers and requires minimal maintenance. Routine checks include monitoring the gearbox oil level and ensuring the blades are in good condition without any damage, along with regular greasing of the PTO shaft.

The skids are fully adjustable, allowing for flexible cutting height. Adjustments can be made easily by unbolting the side skids. This topper mower also includes a stone guard for added protection during cutting, preventing damage.
